Christ My Song - 1388
To him whose name is "love"
(Thomas Kelly/Johannes Thomas Rüegg)
To him whose name is "love".
"Praise him for his mighty acts." (Psalm 150,2)
1. To him whose name is "love",
who left his throne above,
and dwelt, himself a man, with men:
to him who died to save,
who slept within the grave,
and took the life he gave again.
2. To him, to whom is giv'n,
all pow'r in earth and heav'n,
who sits at God's right hand above;
to him who intercedes,
who for his people pleads,
whom angels serve, whom angels love.
3. To him we soon shall see
in glorious majesty,
appearing in the clouds of heav'n:
to him whose name we sing,
our Saviour and our King,
let everlasting praise be giv'n.
Thomas Kelly, Hymns on various passages of Scripture, ca. 1853, Hymn 217.
